Expertise
Aileen Camacho specialises in Latin America and Caribbean aviation liability and insurance matters directly assisting airlines and their respective insurers and reinsurers in the handling of disaster management and mass action passenger injury claims, with direct experience working with victims, families of victims, lawyers, insurers and airline senior executives in multi-national settings. She has actively participated in complex negotiations and multi-district litigation arising from major air accidents which have occurred over the past decade within her region including cases such as the 1999 Lineas Aereas Privadas Argentina disaster in Argentina; the 2006 GOL Airlines disaster in Brazil; the 2008 Santa Barbara Airlines loss in Venezuela; and the 2008 Lloyd Aéreo Boliviano loss in Bolivia. In addition to major accidents Ms. Camacho handles smaller fixed-wing and rotor-wing aircraft claims occurring within this global region providing direct legal assistance to small airline businesses, aeronautical authorities, airports and their respective insurers and reinsurers in the handling of liability claims; and gives legal counsel to insurers and reinsurers on the changing laws, regulations and judicial trends impacting upon insurers and reinsurers seeking to place and maintain business within Latin America and the Caribbean. Aileen resides in Puerto Rico to strategically assist with the Latin American and Caribbean aviation business.
