Expertise:
George advises on aerospace liability, aviation disaster management and regulatory issues.  He has hands-on experience with the ongoing disaster management of the Helios Airways Boeing 737 crash outside of Athens, Greece in August 2005.  George is an assistant to the legal counsel of the International Union of Aviation Insurers (IUAI) providing support in relation to the replacement of the Rome Convention on Surface Damage. 

George's doctoral thesis, "Risk and Liability in Air Law" will be published in September 2009.  It is the first book to analyse the relevant international conventions governing the liability of airlines to passengers and third parties on the ground from a risk perspective.   • Best Student Paper Award for "Legal Aspects of Aviation Risk Management" at the Aviation Management Education and Research Conference organised by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Concordia University, Canada, 2003.

Interests:
George has a degree in classical guitar, and plays in solo recitals as well as in chamber music ensembles. For a change of pace, he enjoys soccer, basketball and squash.
