Gates and Partners is collaborating with Kenyon International Emergency Services to provide the airline industry with a comprehensive disaster planning and response system, as well as an innovative auditing service. The Gates/Kenyon “One-Stop” Disaster Response is designed to assist before, during and after a major loss to meet the optimum level of organisation and implementation required for the efficient handling of the incident. Each component of the service may be contracted on a stand-alone basis.

The scheme includes an innovative disaster response audit to evaluate an airline’s disaster preparedness. Insurers and brokers will find the audit of great interest in helping to assist their insureds. The audit consists of a strategic assessment of a carrier’s emergency response plan, review of legal risk compliance and adequacy of legal contractual structures, as well as training and rehearsal of nominated personnel and advice on contingency procedures and manuals.

In the event of a disaster, the Gates/Kenyon team is on hand around the clock to provide expert technical and legal support throughout the world. We react immediately to assist and advise airlines with regard to the recovery of human remains and personal effects, multi-lingual crisis communications, survivor management, family assistance, press and claims handling, and the many other challenging aspects of the aftermath of a disaster.

Post-accident, we can direct the legal management of claims settlement, as well as offer ongoing crisis support services. Trained mediators are available to achieve agreement on compensation through alternative dispute resolution.

The advantages of the Gates/Kenyon Disaster Response include:

  • An experienced “one-stop” response unit ready to assist before, during and after a major incident. If required, each component of the service may be contracted on a stand-alone basis.
  • A constructive audit designed to improve an airline’s emergency response before disaster strikes.
  • A hands-on international response team ready to support and guide airlines in human recovery and claims handling during the loss.
  • After-accident settlement of compensation claims and technical crisis support services.
